System flow is shown below

The whole system requires 12 plants, 12 sensor-ESP units, a wifi Router, a Mac Mini, an eight channel audio interface, 4 two channel amplifiers and 8 speakers. The sensor-ESP unit connects with a pin which was insert into the soil of the plant, the sensor data is sent on LAN network via WIFI. The net data is then accessed by Puredata patch on Mac Mini. The software then send out OSC signals to Ableton as a sound engine. The output from Ableton is then feed into the audio interface to be amplified and output into the speakers.

The system was then installed into four wood stands, each one holds three plants. The configuration allows participants to interact with the plants in any quadrat, which allows them to interact with six plants at the same time.
