Multi level touch interactive design
Inter project for Playablestreets 'Plants'. The plants developed by Playablestreets is a site-specific musical installation that invites participants to create their own musical compositions using plants. The task for the internship is to design a capacitive sensing to OSC (Open Sound Control) device which turns touch into music. The device could be applied to multiple applications including current developments at playable street. The device senses the changing of capacitor during interactions (both human-machine and human-human). The output could be direct MIDI notes/cc information and OSC.
The project successfully achieved the company's goal, multi-level touch is allowed on the device which makes the plant playable as an music instrument. The detailed design process can be accessed here:

Apart from the application of the Plants, explorations has been done to inform potential projects and applications of this capacitive touch technology.
Multi channel sound control.
Capacitive touch effect pedal.
As a wearable device.
Interact with foot.
Playing jazz saxophone with backing track.
